Pentwater Homecoming

Pentwater Homecoming

With good luck and advice from locals, we timed our stay in Pentwater to include their annual “Homecoming” celebration. The free concerts, parade and fireworks added zest to our stop here (elaborately hosted by the Michigan State University Alumni Association) – not to mention the three story antique mall and superb marine store. As in the previous Michigan beach towns we have seen, great food both fresh and prepared is easy to find. Friendly folks made us welcome – especially Kari and Charles who invited us to watch the fireworks from their balcony. It was the perfect view accompanied by lively conversation. Life continues to be good as we putter on south – just a few more Michigan stops are on the agenda before we visit Indiana and set our clocks back to Central time.

Parade Highlights –

MSU alumni marching band lead off – augmented by current band members and the cheer squad.

Scottsville Clown Band – the hit of the parade and free concerts – fun for eyes and ears.

Lots of antique cars – some not so antique since they were new when we were kids.

Beauty queens –

Perhaps this parade is so well attended because most participants are throwing candy or popsicles?
