End of Michigan and a quick stop in Indiana

Benton Harbor/St Joseph – last stop in Michigan

Our visit here began with some long overdue housekeeping in preparation for Amanda and Paul’s visit.

When they arrived we toured downtown hotspots like the tavern with 74 beers on tap and enjoyed a sunset walk out to the lighthouse.  A leisurely dinner on the dock in our park like marina ended the day.

From Benton Harbor we crossed Lake Michigan into Indiana for a stop at Michigan City.  The outlet mall there was a big hit with the girls while the boys did some grocery shopping, stopped at West Marine and a hardware store.  We also had lunch at the local brewery and found a butcher who specialized in all things wurst.  He advertised the best ever and it was no exaggeration. His free samples did not hurt sales either. On our stop here we also made time for a peek in the petite lighthouse museum immediately adjacent to our dock.
