Essential Boating Equipment

Essential Boating Equipment
While we have seen many blogs extolling the benefits and essential nature of the humble fly swatter for boaters, we have found – though useful – its value is seasonal. (Yes, there are actually months when the bugs do not bother us, much.)  On the other hand, this handy clip is used almost daily on our boat. It surely deserves consideration on the most useful list.

First off it is used to reseal everything from carrots, to chips and spinach bags. It keeps pesky papers from flying about and even secures a temporary sunscreen so we can watch afternoon football games. Don’t know how anyone boats without these essential clips. They also come in a variety of useful sizes from mini to maxi.  Our only complaint is they occasionally rust, so we have to purge our stash and replenish as needed from time to time. Perhaps a nautical entrepreneur will start producing them in stainless steel? And, no we do not own stock in the company that makes these babies, but perhaps we should talk to Alan about that….. P.S. we do have two fly swatters on board as well!
