Pausing
in Scituate
On
a windy morning we left the protection of Boston Harbor and the outer islands
to find some big waves and swells roaming the Atlantic. Fortunately we had planned only a short run
into Scituate and were grateful to find a calm harbor and secure mooring in
this roomy and busy harbor. This is a cruiser friendly port with all manner of
conveniences a few steps from the numerous dinghy docks, including a movie
house, library, shops and banks. Besides walking the quiet streets, we took
advantage of this stopover to visit the grocery and get a haircut plus catch up
on paper work and other routine chores.
Fortunately, Scituate is a perfect place to spend an extra day waiting
for the waters to calm down.
