Lunch in Hyde Park

Lunch in Hyde Park

On our last stop in Hyde Park we walked our toes off visiting the FDR home and library as well as the Vanderbilt Mansion.  This time around we booked an extravagant lunch at the Culinary Institute of America a short taxi ride from the dock at Hyde Park Landing.  The mooring balls run by Pete are still a great deal in this scenic stretch of the river that is deep and swift.  His service was again exemplary when I called to request a ball plus he met us on the dock to ensure that our visit was successful.  He even agreed with our choice of the Bocuse Restaurant as we headed off for lunch.  The CIA did not disappoint with a tasty three course lunch for a mere 35 dollars – a steal for such fancy quality in this pricey neighborhood.  To work off the calories we walked back to the boat with a few stops in the Hyde Park Village shops to catch our breath and rest our toes. Not sure that the walk balanced the calories but some days it doesn’t pay to look too closely at the totals.
