ICW Canal

ICW Canal





After leaving the wilds of the Waccamaw River we moved into a long section of canalized ICW on the border between South and North Carolina.  We stopped at the Lightkeepers Marina in Little River, SC where friendly staff and resident boat owners greeted us with southern hospitality – even lending us a car for a grocery run. We also can highly recommend the eats at Clarks overlooking the harbor. Mostly  the charms of this section are man-made but nonetheless entertaining. This stretch does include the notorious ROCK LEDGES    - which rate a large yellow caution box of warnings for boaters. We transited this area at dead low tide so the ledges are clearly visible and easy to avoid.
